WOMAN'S ROUND LAKE IMPROVEMENT SOCIETY
THE ORIGINAL MISSION
To support the Round Lake Libraries and "to make Round Lake desirable and attractive as a place of residence and in all ways to study to keep pace with the progressive spirit of the age." - 1896
OUR HISTORY
In 1896, a group of forward thinking women formed the Woman’s Round Lake Improvement Society to establish a library and celebrate the epicenter which the Village of Round Lake had become. Built by highly skilled Victorian crafters and architects and modeled after our sister village, Oak Bluffs in Martha’s Vineyard, Round Lake remains home to artists, musicians, professionals and generations of families. The ever growing community and the Round Lake Libraries continue to be the focus of the many men and women who volunteer through WRLIS, and is supported by the Round Lake Antiques Festival, the Markets at Round Lake, and the Night of Illumination.
